Description

Exceptionally breathable and completely waterproof shorts ideal for any wet weather conditions. Developed to be used as an outer layer over bibs, the Bastion Shorts give excellent weather protection as well as freedom of movement. Taped seams and a 3-layer fabric with 15 000mm water column ensure water stays out, while moisture vapor permeability of 30 000gsm/24hr keeps you dry from the inside. Velcro adjusters on the waist ensure a secure fit, and the shorts are cut wide enough to work seamlessly with knee protectors. Two zipped hand pockets on the sides and a smaller card pocket at the rear give great secure storage.

I am not an extreme downhill or trail mtb rider. I am just a novice rider riding my old mtb in paved road for work out, every day, rain/shine/snow. Mostly, I could wear any pants (no pad, still feel weird). But for any wet weather (rain, snow, or mixed), I prefer to wear waterproof shorts although you would be soaked eventually. Just my preference.Due to waterproof fabric, it would not be stretchy as other shorts. I wore this in all weather conditions. In the winter, I wear tights underneath and it would be little tighter. Standalone would be perfect size for me (6'1", 210 lbs, 34 in waist, 32 length). Waist has adjustable Velcro so that your back would be nicely covered (no gap and no butt-cracks display). After fastening your waist for nice fit, your behind might become bulging (no stretchy). No deal breaker since waterproof feature is far important than what my behind looks like. It may make some noise while riding (hard to explain this: waterproof fabric rubbing noise???).Waterproof is top notch. I tried to hand wash this pants. All water drops were passing by. Fantabulous!!!Length is hard to justify. Its length is perfect for me, not bothering my knees while pedaling.Overall, this is amazing waterproof shorts for all weather conditions!!!
