The material on these is really thin, with the interior of the leg even having large vent holes. They are very cool and lightweight... great for warm weather riding, but not as durable as your typical MTB short. The "pockets" seem more like air vents vs. usable storage. Very long zippers and anything heavy inside will just end up flopping around at the bottom of the leg. I got a size 32 ( fit perfectly) at a hefty discount, but they seem expensive at full price for such a minimalistic short.These are great summer mtb shorts. Zippered pockets have mesh inside so if you leave the zipper open you get more airflow. Material is also pretty breathable. I like that Alpinestars run pretty long as I have some long legs and its nice that they come down to knee pads. These and some RaceFace Indy shorts are my go-tos in the summer. These will rip easier if you crash or catch them on tree branches but that comes with lightweight material.Not worth $99 though. They dropped to $75 and at that they are still pretty steep.Fits really good. Fabric and stitching is good. But only pockets are at the knees. Put anything in there and it knocks up against your knees when riding. Ouch!Only complaint is the logo peeled off after washing.
